Atty. JVAyala established in the early 70's the banana trade with Sumito Fruits & Fuji Fruits with Hijo Plantation, Inc., as the pioneering exporter of bananas primarily for the Japan market.
Early 80's - the birth of DAHITRI composed of Davao Fruits Corporation, Hijo Plantation, Inc and Twin Rivers Plantation, Inc.
The 70's & 80's
Birth of Vizcaya Plantation, Inc (formerly Magugpo Agricultural Development Corporation), a producer and exporter of lowland less-chemical bananas
